While John Belardo is Sculptor in Residence, he will give a lecture on the Piccirilli Family, a group of sculptors who were stone carvers. In addition to their personal work, they also carved some of America's important monuments such as the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, and the Maine Memorial in New York City.
Brookgreen's collection includes sculptures by three of the Piccirilli brothers and a nephew.
