Camp Brookgreen

Camp Brookgreen is a one-week camp that immerses your child into nature and connects them with wildlife. Each day campers will enjoy diverse learning opportunities and educational experiences that teach science, art, and team-building skills. Campers will enjoy guided tours through our native zoo and award-winning botanical and sculpture garden. Throughout the week, students may also meet animal ambassadors up-close, get behind-the-scenes tours, and enjoy a variety of S.T.E.M. based activities. Campers may attend one, or both camp weeks.

Water is all around us and during the summer months we especially want it to be a part of our lives. Art camp will focus on water in art. Artist like Winslow Homer, David Hockney, Samantha French, Hokusai, and Monet will be used as inspiration for our creations. Participants will create works that display the recreational uses of water from swimming to boating in paintings and sculptures. We will develop works that reflect the environmental importance of water with found art projects. Campers will look at the animals that depend on water and depict them from the species that are easily seen on the surface to the ones that are hidden at the lowest depths. So, dive right in the water is just fine.

Registration: March 15, 2021 members, March 22, 2021 non-members. Call 843-235-6049.
