• Tickets may be presented digitally on your mobile device or printed.
• Gates open at 4:00 p.m. You’re welcome to arrive any time after that.
• The Gardens close at 9 p.m.

Parking & Accessibility

• Complimentary parking is available.
• Accessible parking is located in the main lot.
• Please bring your own mobility device if needed, as we do not provide wheelchairs or scooters.

Ride Share (Uber/Lyft or Cab service)

• Pick up/drop off in main parking area
• For pickups – drivers need to be inside the gates before 9 p.m.

Dining Options

• Austin’s Harvest: Reservations are recommended. Book online or call 843-235-6030.
• Campbell Catering: Serving Lowcountry favorites in the Leonard Pavilion. No reservation needed.
• Food Trucks: Open from 4:00 – 8:45 p.m.
• Beverage Stations: Open from 4:00 – 8:30 p.m.
• The Old Kitchen: Open from 4:00 – 8:30 p.m.

 

Entertainment & Attractions

• Entertainment runs from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m., with 15-minute breaks between sets.
• The Holiday Tree Lighting takes place at 6:00 p.m. in the Arboretum.
• Keepsakes Museum Store is open until 9:00 p.m.
• Rosen Galleries and Brown Sculpture Court are open until 9:00 p.m.
• Please note: The Lowcountry Trail, Lowcountry Zoo, Floyd Family Farm, Bleifeld Gallery, and Offner Center are closed during this event.

Visitor Guidelines

For your safety and enjoyment:

• Stay on lighted pathways.
• Do not touch or climb on artwork or lighted displays.
• Please avoid picking or touching plant materials.
• Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the Gardens.
• Pets are not allowed.
• Outside food and drinks are not permitted.

Weather Note

• Weather in our area can be very localized. While it may be raining in nearby towns, Brookgreen Gardens could have clear skies.
• In the event of cancellation due to dangerous conditions, updates will be posted in the alert banner at the top of our website.

Frequently Asking Questions

Is this a rain-or-shine event?

Yes, this event is rain or shine. If there is potentially harmful weather and we decide to close, it will be announced on our website alert message and on our social pages. Otherwise, bring your rain jacket and/or umbrella and enjoy the beauty of the Gardens.

 

Is the website accurate and up to date on ticket availability?

Yes, our website is accurate. If it says a date is sold out, it is sold out. If you are looking for a particular date, keep checking the website for changes in availability, as tickets can become available from time to time with exchanges, etc. There are no additional tickets for members vs. nonmembers.

 

When is the tree lighting?

The tree lighting happens each evening at 6:00 pm.

 

I opted for mobile tickets and only received one barcode. What do I do?

The barcode is good for all tickets you purchased. If you need to split the tickets between cars or for any other reason, be sure both cars or parties have the barcode and let the admissions attendant know how many are in your car, so they do not scan all tickets in. That way the next vehicle has enough to enter.

 

If I purchase a membership now, will I be able to purchase tickets for a sold-out night?

Even though member tickets went on sale before non-member tickets, now members and nonmembers have the same ticket availability.

To receive a member discount for a night with available tickets, you can purchase a membership now, but please know that it will be at least 24 hours before the membership number is activated in our ticketing system.

 

Are wheelchairs available for rent?

No, we do not have wheelchairs available to rent in the Gardens. You can bring your own, as we are wheelchair accessible.

 

The event is from 4:00 – 9:00 PM. Does that mean I have to get there right at 4:00 PM?

No, you can come anytime during those hours. Just note, the main gate closes at 8:30 PM, and the Gardens CLOSE at 9:00 PM.

 

Can I exchange my tickets for another night?

You can contact ShowClix for ticket exchange. Tickets can only be exchanged for an event date that has tickets available. You cannot exchange for sold-out dates. Self-Service Exchange

 

Do we have to pay for parking?

Parking is complimentary, and handicap accessible parking is available in the main lot.

 

If I get there early, can I visit the zoo?

No, The Lowcountry Zoo and Floyd Family Farm are closed during Nights of a Thousand Candles.

 

May I bring my dog?

Pets are not allowed at Brookgreen Gardens, they also may not be left in vehicles.

 

Are Service animals allowed?

Service animals that have received special training to assist disabled persons are welcome.

Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

A service animal must be under the control of its handler. Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless the individual’s disability prevents using these devices or these devices interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of tasks.
