The Hungry Garden

Join us for a fun-filled Spring Break at Brookgreen Gardens! Young explorers will be investigating the “lunchbox of the garden” as they discover how plants, insects, birds, reptiles, and mammals all connect in the garden food chain. Campers will explore Brookgreen and enjoy some exciting adventures, including a behind the scenes Greenhouse Tour, a visit to the Lowcountry Zoo, and an animal encounter where we will meet an animal friend up close. 

Each day will feature a creative art project inspired by nature, such as kaleidoscopes, colorful paintings, sun prints, and other spring-themed crafts to allow campers to express what they have seen and learned through art. Grades 4-6

Wonders of the Wild: Spring Explorers Camp

Step into the wild this Spring Break as campers become nature explorers, scientists, and young artists at Brookgreen Gardens. Designed for rising 4th–6th graders, this immersive camp invites participants to explore Brookgreen’s woods, gardens, and historic landscapes while discovering how plants, animals, and insects thrive during the spring season. 

Campers will create nature-inspired art projects such as imprint tiles, leaf animal collages, wind chimes, fairy gardens, and kinetic sculptures while also engaging in hands-on field experiences, including bug observation labs, tree identification challenges, greenhouse investigations, and wildlife encounters at the Lowcountry Zoo. Perfect for the curious naturalist or budding artist, this camp encourages children to explore, create, and connect with the world in bloom.
