Join Andrea for an in-depth look at the history and future of red wolf conservation in the United States. This talk will explore the challenges and successes of the Red Wolf Recovery Program, the vital role zoos and wildlife institutions play in saving the species, and how Brookgreen Gardens contributes to this national effort.
Learn about Red Wolf Ridge, Brookgreen's four-acre habitat that currently houses four male red wolves as part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Red Wolf SAFE (Saving Animals from Extinction) program. Andrea will highlight how Brookgreen supports this collaborative initiative focused on population management, captive breeding, wild release, and habitat stewardship—all critical components in ensuring the survival of one of America’s most endangered mammals.
