Brookgreen Gardens is pleased to announce Jamie Yearwood as its new Director of Philanthropy. In this role, Yearwood will manage Brookgreen’s comprehensive development program, including major gifts, grants, legacy giving, and annual giving.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jamie Yearwood to the Brookgreen Gardens team and to our community,” says Page Kiniry, President and CEO of Brookgreen. “Jamie brings significant experience to Brookgreen, and we are confident in her ability to oversee our philanthropy team and donor relations efforts.”

As Director of Philanthropy, Yearwood will partner with executive leadership to set the overall fundraising strategy and work to grow contributed income to Brookgreen by effectively identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donors. “I want people to recognize that much of the beauty of Brookgreen is built upon the support of our donors, members and those who love this special place,” says Yearwood. She will manage Brookgreen’s philanthropy team and work to develop best practices for constituent engagement, donor cultivation, and stewardship through programs such as the Huntington Society, Corporate Partners, Curator’s Circle, and memorial giving.

Yearwood earned her bachelor’s degree in communications at Elon University and her master’s in sports studies at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She has extensive experience developing and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders and leading multi-faceted fundraising campaigns. Since 2019, Yearwood has served as the Director of Development at Myers Park United Methodist Church in Charlotte and similar roles at Queens University of Charlotte. Yearwood recently relocated from Charlotte to the Pawleys Island area with her family and looks forward to getting involved with the local community.
