In this hands-on calligraphy workshop at Brookgreen Gardens, guests will be introduced to the art of modern pointed-pen calligraphy in a relaxed, inspiring garden setting. Participants will learn foundational strokes, letter formation, and simple techniques to create beautifully balanced words and phrases. With guided instruction and personalized tips, students will leave with the confidence to continue practicing at home and the skills to address envelopes, create place cards, or add elegant handwritten touches to gifts and stationery.

The class blends artistry and mindfulness, inviting attendees to slow down and enjoy the rhythm of writing by hand. No prior experience is needed—just a love of beautiful lettering and a willingness to try something new.

Students do not need to bring anything other than themselves!  If you have anything that has inspired you to learn calligraphy - like an old letter, a wedding invitation, a quote, etc. - please do bring to share and get direction.

Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Workshops are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met. In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified and refunded.
