Participants will learn about local ecosystems in the Grand Strand region, explore sustainable landscaping challenges and solutions, discover the science behind plant-insect interactions, and gain best practices for gardening with native plants and applying ecological landscape design principles.
About the Speaker:
Maeve Snyder is the owner of SnailSeed Native Plants, LLC, a native plant nursery and ecological garden consulting business. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Coastal Carolina University and an M.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina.
Maeve combines scientific training with an ecological mindset to promote sustainable landscaping and native plant gardening. Her guiding principles focus on working with the landscape, enhancing biodiversity, and supporting ecosystem services.
An experienced environmental educator, Maeve is passionate about communicating the importance of native plants. She currently serves as the education chair for the Grand Strand chapter of the South Carolina Native Plant Society.
