About the Speaker:

In his 20s, Frank Hyman was a very successful college dropout who decided to forgo a traditional career and get paid for his hobbies. Foraging mushrooms is the ninth hobby he has turned into a profession—the other eight being horticulture, carpentry, stone masonry, sculpture, design, politics, photography, and writing.

Frank has written foraging columns for Paleo, Urban Farm, and Hobby Farms magazines. He has taught foraging to over 1,000 farmers, arborists, chefs, and members of the myco-curious public. Before the pandemic, he earned up to $200 an hour selling mushrooms to chefs. Frank is the author of How to Forage Mushrooms Without Dying: An Absolute Beginner’s Guide, which has sold nearly 60,000 copies.
