Join our Horticulturists--Kerry Rapp and Devin Ravencroft--for a tour of Brookgreen Gardens’ greenhouse and nursery complex. Kerry will discuss how staff and volunteers manage the production of over 40,000 plants each year, including the warm/cool season annuals for the Garden, the fall and spring plant sales, and poinsettias for Nights of a Thousand Candles. And Devin will share a behind-the-scenes look at Brookgreen's new and expanding orchid collection and how it supports the orchid display wall, as part of the conservatory within The Purdy Center. There are currently nearly 800 orchids, with plans for the collection to grow to well over 1000.
About the Speaker: Kerry Rapp
Kerry Rapp is the Director of Conservatory and Greenhouses at Brookgreen Gardens. She is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Master of Science in Horticulture.
Devin Ravencroft is the Assistant Manager of the Conservatory and Orchid Collection at Brookgreen Gardens, where he has been caring for and expanding the diverse orchid collection since 2022. A graduate of Oregon State University, Devin holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Horticulture and Sustainability.
