It has been our experience that Raphanus raphanistrum subsp. sativus 'Schwarzer Runder' performs very well in our area in a cool season planting, when planted in the fall. Radishes were observed to be above average in size and were quick to mature, with a harvest in less than two months after sowing seeds. Its color is unique, with a black exterior and white inside. The flavor is best described as being musty-earthy, but still with a traditional radish flavor.
