We are delighted to honor three remarkable individuals who have received our prestigious 2023 Culture Award for their exceptional commitment to upholding our mission and values. Let's give a thunderous round of applause to our extraordinary staff and volunteer members: Janet Coen, Stephanie Jalbert, and Sandra Zanfini.

Manager Award Recipient: Janet, Manager of Public Exhibits & Logistics, has been a dedicated member of the Brookgreen team since 2017. Her peers praise her for her extraordinary talent in enhancing the beauty of the Gardens through her exquisite lighting designs. Janet's ability to lead and inspire a team of talented staff and volunteers has allowed their collective vision to come to life. She consistently brings a positive attitude, efficiency, and helpfulness to her work, making he an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. Janet is the vision behind our Summer Light: Art By Night event, as well as Nights of a Thousand Candles.

Runners Up: Tony Prince, Manger of Public Exhibits & Logistics & Abagail Gullion, Assistant Manger of Keepsakes

 

Staff Award Recipient: Stephanie (not pictured), Guest Services Associate, is a remarkable part-time Associate who began her career with Brookgreen in 2018. She is highly regarded by her peers for her consistent positivity, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond. She embodies the essence of the Brookgreen culture through her helpfulness, cheerful demeanor, and unwavering dedication to providing exceptional service to visitors. Stephanie's willingness to step up and assist, even outside of her assigned shifts, highlights her unwavering commitment to ensuring a positive experience for all.

Runners Up: Viki Richardson (not pictured), Former Coordinator for Outreach Programs & Gina Davis, Horticulturist

 

Volunteer Award Recipient: Sandra, Volunteer, has been an active volunteer since August 2019. Sandra became a mentor in 2022, coaching and training new volunteers as they began their volunteer journey at Brookgreen. Sandra encourages others to seek out various volunteer opportunities throughout Brookgreen. She can be found throughout the Gardens assisting guests while strolling. She is also a Membership Ambassador, and often volunteers for special events and weddings. She is currently a Live Oaks Council member, volunteering 687 hours in 2022.

These Culture Award recipients epitomize the essence of our organization, and their commitment serves as a reminder of the extraordinary potential within each of us. They exemplify the spirit of collaboration, passion, and integrity that lies at the heart of our mission. Congratulations!

Gates close at 4:30 PM. For their safety and the safety of our animal collection, pets are not allowed, nor can they be left in vehicles inside Brookgreen. Service animals that have received special training to assist disabled persons are welcome.
