Anne Blackwell Thompson’s pressed botanical art combines years of botanical study, significant training in studio art, and her love of the natural world. Her skills were further honed while studying as an apprentice to world-renowned botanical artist Stuart Thornton in Turin, Italy.
Thompson’s work has been featured in such publications as The Washington Post, VERANDA, Garden & Gun, and Southern Living. Thompson has exhibited at Quirk Gallery and was the Artist In Residence at Ladew Topiary Gardens in 2021.
Thompson has been an Artist in Residence at Brookgreen Gardens during 2023, and her residency culminates with this exhibit.
All of the work displayed are botanicals harvested at Brookgreen Gardens, and all works will be available for sale through Keepsakes.
The exhibit will be open during Nights of a Thousand Candles.
