Group rates available for parties with a minimum of 15 adults in their group

We look forward to seeing you at the 21st anniversary of Nights of a Thousand Candles. We are thankful you will be in the gardens with us to celebrate and wish you a safe and healthy holiday season!

Our event is rain or shine unless conditions are dangerous for our guests, volunteers, and staff.

Also, after November 21st, all regular Garden admission tickets purchased will be good through the end of December, due to the limited daytime hours.

Beginning Monday, November 30th, the Gardens are only open regular daytime hours on Monday's and Tuesday's from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm. In addition, the Gardens will be open regular daytime hours December 21 - December 24, and we are closed on Christmas Day.

Important Safety and COVID-19 Guidelines

  • Face coverings are required in all interior areas, including restrooms. We encourage the use of face coverings outdoors when you are unable to maintain 6 feet of distance from others. We ask everyone to attempt to keep 6 feet away from those not in their party.
  • Some areas in the exhibit will have one-way only traffic. Please stay on walkways and follow the indicated directions.
  • Please do not touch or climb on the artwork.
  • Please do not touch or pick plant materials.
  • No smoking in the Gardens.
  • Lost and found is at Keepsakes Gift Shop.
  • Camera tripods are not permitted during this event.
  • Service animals that have received special training to assist disabled persons are welcome in Brookgreen. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
  • No pets.

We care about the health and well-being of all our members, guests, volunteers, and employees, and have continued to remain vigilant in adhering to all CDC, DHEC, and local government guidelines. We appreciate everyone following these guidelines so that we may keep Nights of a Thousand Candles open and safe for all.  Please visit us another time if you are not feeling well.

The Lowcountry Trail and Lowcountry Zoo are closed during this event.

 

Tips and Frequently Asked Questions!

Here are some suggestions to make your experience more enjoyable.

  • Make a note of where you are parked (take a picture with your phone!)
  • Give yourself plenty of time for walking if you are trying to be at one of the entertainment events. Allow at least 15 minutes between areas.
  • Dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes.
  • Brookgreen staff and volunteers will be posted throughout the Gardens. If you have a question, please ask one of them.
  • Tripods are not allowed at this event. See our photography policy.
  • Four dinner options are available from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. each evening. These options include a variety of fare including seafood, BBQ, chicken bog, and vegetarian options. Dining options are priced in addition to the event admission. 
  • The Old Kitchen, located in the sculpture gardens, serves beverages, soup, and snacks. Two additional beverage stations, located at the Hill at Live Oak Allee and the Leonard Pavilion, offer hot and cold beverages.
  • If utilizing UBER for transportation after 9:00 PM, the driver will need to re-enter the gardens at the south entrance (staff entrance just south of the main entrance). Plan on meeting at the Welcome Center for pick-up. 

    Tidelands Health Entertainment Tent Schedule

  • The Strolling Bagpipers will be roaming the gardens every evening during Nights of a Thousand Candles.
  • Due to COVID-19 concerns for safety, we will have one entertainment tent, the Tidelands Health Entertainment Tent, located in the field near Pegasus. Artists are subject to change without notice and there will be no seating

For their safety and the safety of our animal collection, pets are not allowed, nor can they be left in vehicles inside Brookgreen.
