The Oaks Plantation History and Nature Excursion

Departs from the Welcome Center, in front of Keepsakes

Travel back roads with an interpreter and hear about the history of the prominent Alston family here in colonial and antebellum eras. Visit the location of the plantation house, the Alston family cemetery, grounds of the slave village, and other archaeological sites. Due to its remote location, transportation is by mini-bus. Call (843) 235-6016 with questions or for information. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children, in addition to garden admission. Tickets may be purchased at Keepsakes at least 10 minutes prior to departure time. Guests for this excursion will receive a discount coupon for same-day purchases at Keepsakes.

Mondays and Wednesdays only - Tours begin at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm

Open Mon - Wed from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
During Nights of a Thousand Candles, we open at 3:00 p.m. for the event.

For their safety and the safety of our animal collection, pets are not allowed, nor can they be left in vehicles inside Brookgreen.

Service animals that have received special training to assist disabled persons are welcome.
