Nights of a Thousand Candles Photography Workshop

Fry Classroom at the Welcome Center and Fountain of the Muses, Diana pool, and the Upper Left Wing of the gardens

Learn photographic and lighting techniques and the gear that helps you to get focused photography on the lighted holiday displays. Learn to mix ambient light with many different types of lighted displays. Getting proper exposure and light painting techniques.

Meet in the Fry Classroom at 2:00 p.m. for an overview, and then proceed into the Gardens as dusk approaches and the lights come on. Bring your own camera(s) and equipment. Tri-pods will be allowed for this event.

FYI - so no surprises are spoiled, all photos taken during this class MAY NOT be shared with the public or on any social media until Nights of a Thousand Candles opens to the public. 

Class will be led by photographers Anne Malarich, Jack Eyler, president of the St. James Photography Club, and David Fattaleh, former photography manager for the West Virginia Division of Tourism. 

Equipment needed: Camera, lens, tripod, extra batteries. Also, wear dark clothing.

Cost includes a box lunch.

For their safety and the safety of our animal collection, pets are not allowed, nor can they be left in vehicles inside Brookgreen.
Service animals that have received special training to assist disabled persons are welcome.
