Introduction to the Labyrinth

Saturday, October 12, 2019 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Welcome Center Conference Room and the Brookgreen Labyrinth

What is a labyrinth? Where did they originate? Why do people walk labyrinths? What do we know about their history? Joins us for a classroom session where you will be introduce to labyrinths and also experience a walk on Brookgreen's labyrinth in a beautiful, natural setting. We will meet in the Welcome Center Conference Room and move to the labyrinth for a walk together following the classroom session.  Feel free to bring your journal and your curiosity.

For mobility-challenged guests only:  Limited golf cart transportation will be provided from the Welcome Center to the labyrinth for those who cannot walk the 1/3 mile to and from the labyrinth.  The cart will leave the Welcome Center for the labyrinth at the conclusion of the classroom session and return to the Welcome Center following the walk.  Limited seats available for mobility-challenged guests only--please respect this to allow those guests to participate.

PLEASE NOTE that the event may be cancelled for safety reason if there is significant rainfall or flooding impacting the labyrinth area prior to or on the day of the walk.  Due to the natural surroundings of the labyrinth, we strongly encourage walkers to wear close-toed shoes for their safety.
