Does the Garden offer programs for children and families?
Yes, Mother Nature's Café and Meet the Animals are especially popular daily programs for families. The Children's Discovery Room offers seven interactive stations where ages 4 - 12 may learn about the art, horticulture, history, and nature at Brookgreen. Mother's Nature's Cafe, Meet the Animals, and the Children's Discovery Room are all free with garden admission.

Do the Gardens offer field trips opportunities for schools and groups?

What can I see at the Gardens?
The Gardens have more than 300 acres of gardens and facilities that are open to the public. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and are filled with figurative sculpture by American artists. In addition, there are excursions that take visitors to parts of thousands of acres at Brookgreen that are not generally open to the public.

Is commercial photography of the gardens permitted?

We encourage visitors to take images of Brookgreen for their personal enjoyment but commercial photography is not permitted due to potential copyright infringement of the sculptors work.

What's in bloom?
The Gardens are beautiful year-round. There is almost always something in bloom - and plants don't have to be blooming to be interesting! Barks, berries, foliage and seed pods are fascinating and often quite beautiful. Click here to see what's in bloom.

Can I drive through the Gardens?
The Gardens are a walk-through experience; driving is not permitted except on the main roads. The Gardens are relatively flat and easy to walk. Child and adult strollers are available at the Welcome Center and benches are conveniently located along pathways.

How long does it take to see the gardens?
A walk through the Gardens and the Zoo takes a couple of hours, but general admission is good for seven consecutive days so visitors have plenty of time to take tours, excursions, and enjoy all that Brookgreen has to offer.

What are some of the classes and special events coming up at the Garden?
The Gardens offer gardening classes, sculpture workshops and have special events throughout the year. Click here for the calendar events.

Can I bring food and drinks into the Gardens?

For visitors who would like to bring their own food, our picnic facility is located near the Jessamine Pond, across from the Sculpture Gardens. It has picnic tables and restroom facilities. Grills are not permitted. Visitors may not bring their own food and drinks in any area.

Does Brookgreen have a restaurant or food service available ?

Does Brookgreen have a gift shop?
Yes, Keepsakes, the Brookgreen Shop, offers an excellent selection of books, sculpture, gardening accessories, apparel, jewelry and gifts for children. Or shop on-line.

Can I ride a bicycle in the Gardens?
Bicycles are only permitted on the paved roads at Brookgreen and not on the garden paths.

May I bring my pet to the Gardens?
No, Brookgreen is a wildlife preserve, and pets are not permitted.
