Training

Prior to volunteering, each new volunteer will meet with the assistant manager of volunteer services to discuss the volunteer’s interest and skills and to decide how they may best serve Brookgreen’s needs and goals.

There are five kinds of training for volunteers. New volunteers begin with the Overview of Programs which exposes the volunteer to the different tours offered to the public. Volunteers are also required to work in the Welcome Center as an observer to help with the learning process. They are also connected with a Mentor to help orient them to Brookgreen. General information meetings for all volunteers are held four times a year. On-the-job training is continuous.

All training sessions are held with the goal of being informative yet enjoyable.

When you volunteer at Brookgreen you are not only giving to a beautiful place but you are learning something new as well.
