It has been our experience that Raphanus raphanistrum subsp. sativus 'Longipinnatus' performs well in our area in a cool season planting. It was observed to do best when direct sown, with transplants not putting on growth. It prefers being in deep, loose soil. It was found to do best in late summer or early fall, with early spring plantings not performing as well.
