It has been our experience that Daucus carota var. sativus 'Yellowstone' performs well in our area in a cool season planting. It has grown at a consistent pace over the course of the cool season, including being in half shade. Loosening the soil to a depth of a foot aided in its success. It was observed to do well in both full sun and part shade. The roots were a light yellow in color.
