It has been our experience that Aechmea blanchetiana performs well in our area in a warm season planting. In sunnier conditions, the foliage is a vivid orange, whereas in shadier conditions, the foliage is more green. Flowering spikes may be removed to help increase vigor, or they may retained as a point of interest. Aechmea blanchetiana reaches about three feet tall and about three to four feet wide.
