Brookgreen and Novel Coronovirus - COVID-19
To our members, guests, and friends,
Brookgreen Gardens has been closely monitoring the situation related to COVID-19 and we want to assure all our members and guests that Brookgreen is taking all necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff.
What We Are Doing
Currently, we have not canceled any classes or planned events. Since there is not a major outbreak in our area, or the State at present, the Governor and other officials have urged that we make every effort to continue normal operations and events. We are following the Centers for Disease Control protocols for hand washing, sanitizing, and enhanced cleaning. We are providing hand sanitizer at our ticket counters and restaurant cashier counters.
There are no cases associated with Brookgreen, and out of an abundance of caution, we are instituting travel restrictions and reviewing emergency response protocols. As always we also require that staff and volunteers who develop symptoms of any contagious illness, inform their supervisor immediately and not come in to work.
We are in regular contact with local officials and will continue to follow all guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control and Georgetown County. Your health and safety are our priority.
What We Are Asking You To Do
Please take the same precautions you would take in any public space, such as CDC recommended preventive actions. If you are unwell, we are asking that you visit us another time.
Since its founding in 1931, Brookgreen has been a place of peace and healing. Exposure to art and nature are proven to reduce stress and increase a general feeling of well-being. In this time of uncertainty, we hope you will take advantage of all that Brookgreen has to offer.
Brookgreen Gardens is open and guests are enjoying the spring blooms and fresh air. If there are any changes to our status, we will post on our website and social media pages immediately.
We appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
Page Kiniry
President and CEO
