Murrells Inlet, SC- Pooches and Purebreds: Canine Images in Sculpture and Figurative Felines: The Sculptured Cat are two new indoor sculpture exhibits that will be on display daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. until March 9, in the Rainey Sculpture Pavilion at Brookgreen Gardens.  Robin Salmon, Vice-President for Collections and Curator of Sculpture said, “Through the centuries, man’s best friend has been a favorite subject of artists. Pooches and Purebreds  presents a variety of dogs, from sporting breeds to mutts, interpreted by the foremost animal sculptors in America.  We designed this exhibit to be fun!”

“Our second new exhibit, Figurative Felines depicts  the sinuous quality of the feline form and the gracefulness and power of the cat in its daily activities.”  Salmon continued, “Whether domestic or wild, the cat exudes elegance and mystery, providing intriguing subject matter for the artist.”

Both exhibits are free with regular admission to the gardens - Adults (13-64) $12; Seniors (65 and up) $10; Children (6-12) $5 ; Children 5 and under are free.
