Description Information taken from the proposal to acquire the sculpture, written by Robin Salmon addressing The Collections and Programs Committee:
"The dagger-shaped 'Martha Graham as Clytemnestra', the adulterous wife of Agamemnon who murdered him with the help of her lover, features an image of Graham's face on the obverse, centered on the dagger's hilt. The reverse presents Graham in one of her trademark dance movements. The medal is patinated red to symbolize the blood-stained dagger. "
