| Description |
"Pandora One Medal" by Elbert Weinberg
Medal/Pandora/the bomb/death
"The medal's obverse depicts the myth of Pandora's box where the miseries of the world were unwittingly released by teh curious woman, Pandora. However, the sculptor allegorically equated the creation of the bomb and teh myth by depicting a grinning death's head rising from the box. On the reverse an atomic cloud signals the end of the world." (Salmon 267) |
