"Hippocrates" by Julian Hoke Harris
Companion sculpture is "Hygeia" (1988.007).
Cast stone figure in relief. Stylized modeling of a standing male figure holding a staff in one hand, the other hand on his hip. He is bearded, robed and wearing sandals. Figure's head is turned to the right as he is a companion piece to Hygeia. Hippocrates was a historical figure in Greek medicine or is sometimes referred to as the "father of medicine".
