Description "Nubian Goat" by Anna Hyatt Huntington

Animal/goat/recumbent

"A Goat is curled up at rest, head turned around to lick its left side. The front feet are tucked under its chest and one leg is stretched out to the side. The long ears characteristic of the breed hang down on the sides of its face. Anna Hyatt Huntington produces a series of studies of this breed and other goats that were raised at her home. Archer Huntington was particularly fond of goat's milk and its healthful properties." ("Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture Volume II", Robin R. Salmon, 1993).
