"Geisha" by Anna Hyatt Huntington
Animal/dog/English bull
"A French bull terrier is sitting quietly with her head lifted and turned slightly to one side. Her ears are pricked as if listening. Geisha was one of the Huntington's beloved pets. She was purchased while the Huntington's were on a trip to Europe in 1932. 'A[rcher] bought a French bulldog female for $100; he saw her and could not resist her.' " ("Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture Volume II", Robin R. Salmon, 1993). |
