| Description |
Clews had never been satisfied with his first conception of "The Thinker," and continued to experiment by means of sketches in which his idea was carried still further. This sketch shows an older man with more ----- body. The shoulders are narrow beside the hunched back, the head bowed on the breast. The fanciful head dress and small skull have not been added. On the fromt panel of the square base an insect with spread wings in modeled in low relief and another is incised on one side.
