| Description |
"Sea Lion" by Wheeler Williams
"A Sea Lion is perched on a stone pedestal, both front flippers braced over the top, neck lifted with nose in the air. His tail is bent around to the right. The muscles ripple smoothly under the glossy skin. This fountain was designed for a home in Regent Park, London, with the addition of a spun copper ball supported on the water spouting from the seal's nose. The model was Charlie, a famous trained seal, who obligingly came to the studio and posed." ("Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture", Beatrice Gilman Proske, 1968).
