"A barefoot girl bends over a lamb lying in her lap, encircling its body with both hands. Her short hair, smooth over the head, lies in soft irregular locks around her face. The short-sleeved dress in which she is clad clings to her body and falls in a few broad folds. The modeling throughout is simplified and reduced to the main outlines of the natural forms.
