| Description |
"Model Adjusting Her Girdle" by Alexander Stirling Calder
Figure/female/clothing
"Bending slightly to fasten her girdle, a woman stands in an unstudied pose. Her hair is drawn back smoothly and gathered into a loose mass at the nape of the neck. In this sketch the sculptor has translated with complete naturalness the easy grace of the model. Clothes are thrown over a wicker stool beside her, and shoes and hose lie on the floor behind." ("Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture", Beatrice Gilman Proske, 1968).
