Description "Pegasus" by Adolph Alexander Weinman

Relief/myth/Pegasus/horse/flight

"A powerful horse, magnificently winged, springs to the left into the air. Below him at left, are clouds against the rising sun. The musculature of the horse and the flowing mane and tail are rendered with vigor and charm of line. The clouds lie in the broken strata of Chinese convention. There is a border of a leaf scroll and flowers." (Proske 125)
