Description "Actaeon" by Paul Manship

Group/myth/male/stag/animal/dog

"In pain and terror Actaeon leaps forward, his body in a sharp diagonal. Antlers sprout from his forehead. One dog has sprung on his body from the rear, and another runs under his feet, with lifted snarling head. A plant with curling leaves rises beneath Actaeon's body. The eyes are blue and white enamel." (Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture", Beatrice Gilman Proske, 1968)
