"A Heron stands on one foot, the other raised off the ground. The neck is sharply curved so that the head, sharp beak pointing forward, rests on the shoulders. The long neck feathers form an apron in front of the body." ("Brookgreen Gardens Sculpture", Beatrice Gilman Proske, 1968).
