"The Young Diana" by Anna Hyatt Huntington
Figure/girl/mythology
"Supported on the tails of three dolphins with their bodies twisted together is a shell with a voluted umbo. On top of the volute is poised the young Diana. She looks upward beyond the bow extended in one hand, the other drawn back from losing the string. A quiver hangs from her shoulder, and a piece of drapery girdles her form at the front. Her short hair is blown forward around her face." (Proske 173) |
