"The Puritan" by Augustus Saint Gaudens
Figure/monument/religion/17th Cent.
" A stern-visaged man strides determinedly forward, holding a Bible under his left arm and striking the ground with a stick grasped in his right hand. His is dressed in the costume of the 17th century, with a long cape sweeping back from his shoulders in deep folds. On the ground at his feet lies a pine branch." (Proske 9)
