"The young Franklin strides forward with a sturdy walking stick in one hand and a bundle in the other, looking eagerly ahead. He is dressed in colonial costume. The dates on the base are 1706, his birth; 1723, the year he arrived at Philidelphia, having walked from Amboy to Burlington; and 1790, his death." (Proske 148)
