Description "Duet" by Adolf Alexander Weinman

Figure/faun/mythology/music

"A satyr is seated on a rock, playing on a pan pipe as he bends towards a young faun lying beside him with arms crossed, looking up at him. The faun resembles the one called Narcissus, but the twisted live oak branch behind the figures, with its echoes of Chinese and Japanese art, makes the design more intricate." (Proske 124)
