In March 2011, three otter pups were born at the Lowcountry Zoo at Brookgreen Gardens. We were thrilled with the new additions to our Zoo family (the first otters born there in recent history) and each year since then we've had a birthday party to celebrate their arrival.

From 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., you are invited to join our zoo keepers for a fun and interactive day with our playful River Otters. There will be craft tables with color sheets, word finds, masks, and more. Storybook reading and an Otter Birthday Party with cake and ice pops for otters and keeper talk as the otters unwrap their presents. Mother Nature’s Café Tour and Meet the Animals programs will be available and all activities are included in garden admission.

Here's the schedule for the day. We hope you can come and celebrate our Otters Birthday!
