Brookgreen Gardens’ President-CEO Wins I.C.E. Award

Murrells Inlet, SC- On Saturday, March 7 at the Palace Theater in Myrtle Beach Bob Jewell, won the Incredible Customer Experience Award (I.C.E.) presented by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, as the most outstanding individual in the non-profit category. This award recognizes business and individuals who have raised the bar for hospitality.

“Not every President and CEO takes the time every week to practice MBWA (management by walking around) but Bob believes it is one of the most important aspects of his job,” said Helen Benso, Vice-President for Marketing, “He enjoys talking with visitors - finds out where they are from, asks how they are enjoying their visit, and what we can do to improve their experience.” Benso continued, “Bob believes that customer service does not stop at the gates of Brookgreen. He serves the community of numerous boards as well as volunteering as a mentor in the Brookgreen Buddies program with Maryville Elementary School.  One of his favorite quotes is by William James “Act as if what you do makes a difference.  It does.”  The difference he has made at Brookgreen Gardens is amazing!”
