Harvest Home Weekend Festival
Saturday and Sunday, October 1 & 2
Mark your calendars for the highlight of the fall season, our annual Harvest Home Weekend Festival. We will have everyone’s favorite activities such as hay rides, scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, entertainment and food served under a big tent. Keepsakes, the Brookgreen Shop, will have artisan potters and sweetgrass basket-makers along with gourmet food samplings, book signings, and more.
In the Lowcountry Zoo area, there will be additional hayrides, kids’ temporary tattoos, a snack tent, and special craft and take-home activities just for kids. There will be wool spinning demonstrations, sidewalk chalking, and the butterfly house will be open all day with some new butterflies just for the fall season.
The festival is included in garden admission which is good for seven consecutive days! Please note: some activities have an additional fee. Brookgreen supplies the hay, poles, string, and clothes for scarecrows (or you can bring your own clothes), at no charge. If you would like to take your scarecrow creation home with you there is a $5.00 fee. Pumpkins, paints and brushes, Brookgreen supplies. If you want to take your pumpkin home, small ones are $4.00 and large pumpkins are $9.00. Hayride are $4.00 per person and we recommend you purchase your tickets on arrival as they sell out fast! "Not So Spooky" boat rides are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children.
Grab your boots! Get your hat! And join performing artist Roger Day, a two-time Parents' Choice© Gold Award Winner, when he presents "Marsh Mud Madness." You will also enjoy classic rock performed by Trip Rogers and Friends, from Mint Hill, NC.
