Girl Scout Badge Programs

Brookgreen Garden’s Education Department now offers programs for Brownie Scouts and Junior Girl Scouts to meet some of their badge requirements.

Brownie Scouts
Brownies will earn the Plants Badge by completing the following activities: Seed Race, Plant Rubbings, Baby Beans, and Leaf Hunt.

The activities are held both indoors and out doors. The entire program should last about 2.5 to 3 hours. They will need to bring a sack lunch and a drink, half of an egg carton with a lid and a pint jar with a lid. Also, bring a box or sturdy bag to carry these items home after the program ends.

Junior Girl Scouts
Junior Girl Scouts can earn the Wildlife Badge by completing the following activities:
Creature Features, Take a Closer Look, Animal Watcher, It's All in the Details, Wildlife Symbol Party, and Staying Alive. The activities are held both indoors and outdoors and last 3.5 to 4 hours. They will need to bring a sack lunch and a drink.

What better place could there be for the Junior Girl Scouts to earn their Earth Connections Badge than here at Brookgreen Gardens? The six criteria we address are: Be an Ecologist, Identify That Tree, Reading the Rings, Saving Animals and Plants, Adapt or Perish, and Plants and People. These are outside activities and the entire program should last about 4 hours. The will need to bring a sack lunch and a drink.
